Stay confident

Hello and happy Friday!

I’ll keep it short and sweet today…

Whilst slowly dipping my toes into the world of freelance I stumble across many useful links and articles that give invaluable advice and confidence boosts for those that freelance.

I thought i’d share this very helpful article written by Katy Cowan, editor and founder of Creative Boom. – some great advice and tips, Thanks Katy!

The snow is still falling here, I hope you’re all wrapped up warm for the weekend!

Pitter pattern pitter pattern!

As well as our joint venture of martha and hepsie ltd, Hepsie and I also each work independently on different projects, jobs & hobbies, so we have decided to share our own individual thoughts, designs and ‘going ons’ on our individual pages and this is mine 🙂 click on the page titled ‘hepsie’ to see what she’s been up to!

I design for m&h but  I’m also pursuing a new career as an independent designer and i’ll use this page to share my story.

As I sit at my desk while it snows outside I start the third and final module of my e-course

run by the amazing duo Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls. Although I still have some work to catch up on from module 2, I can’t wait to get cracking with module 3! I have learnt so much so far, strengthened my portfolio, technical ability, industry know-how and most importantly my  confidence 🙂 Thank you Rachael and Beth!

Those that know me will be aware that I was made redundant twice in the space of 6 months at the end of last year from my career in the design, gift and homes-ware industry in London. This was a very bitter pill to swallow and these last few months have been extremely tough  BUT everything happens for a reason and I feel, slowly but surely i’m getting back on track and heading in the right direction to grow my freelance career as an illustrator and surface pattern designer…fingers crossed all goes well!!

I’ve been working on my portfolio and thought i’d share just a few designs with you…..

Pop back and visit for updates on my design journey!
